Neeeeeeerd! Middle aged father to a stupid budgie and a recovering, antisocial gerbil. Classically trained gamer.
Very disappointed by Switch Super Mario RPG. I really thought this was just placeholder artwork. Especially when the SNES one looks as it does.

Turns out having a theme month (or two) for games has made me play more. Who knew? #SpookySeason #Halloweenies

I've seen some hot takes in my time, but this is genuinely one of the worst ones ever. 7th Gen consoles: Shite! #RetroGaming 😂

Found a massive collection of Atari 2600 at my local Value Village and got excited. Then I saw they want $26 CDN for each cartridge. Sorry Missile Command, I'll continue to play on a replay. #RetroGaming

So I do a thing called #yayadvent, where you exchange 24 tiny gifts with a stranger for a more exciting advent calendar.
1) Is anyone interested here? yayadvent.weebly.com for more info; and
2) how do I make a feed so people can follow along with the hashtag when hashtags don't work here?

Told her it was a totally normal dating sim.
This bodes well.

So this game kept coming up as "it's amazing and it's not what you expect", so I bought it on sale recently. It again came up on a more "themed" list, so I think it's time. It just might fit the current theme... #IYKYK

Seriously! This looks great on a CRT. If you like playing games of the CRT era and can find a space for a little 13", glass cannon of phosphorescent glory, you should do it. #Halloweenies #Retrogaming

In between Little Nightmares and Parasite Eve I've also gone into Silent Hill. I have to say, if you can deal with tank controls and have CRT, this holds up IMO. Great example of less is more. The minimal sounds really ramps up the anxiety of exploring creepy locations. #Halloweenies

This asshole in particular! I knew what I had to do, but the hit detection on an cage being yank meant I sat for what felt like half an hour worth of loading screens just to get through his bit. I enjoyed this game, but the loading times are the most horrifying thing about it. #Halloweenies

Little Nightmares! Friend recommended this ages ago and I finally went into it on Switch. Great evening of playing in bed, window open, cold wind blowing in, headphones, lights out. One sitting this one. Again, love short games. #Halloweenies

Yesterday I kept trying to make a short thread of the #Halloweenies games I've been up to since I want to center this space more around my hobbies and maybe pets but the slow mobile app and issues attaching pictures made me lose patience.

This year the first spooky game was one I always enjoyed but never finished ('til this year), Parasite Eve. I don't think this game could be made today. It's very much a product of its time. Loved it. Nice and short. #RetroGaming #Halloweenies

Last year I played through Symphony of the Night and then Super Castlevania for the first time right after Halloween. I enjoyed that so much that I decided to make it tradition that I play spooky games from September to end of November.

Sadly she passed away last year. Thought Noodle might go into depression, but after about a week he seems to have forgotten completely about her. Bless the little guy, he's very stupid. He has intense conversations with a branch.

Me and my wife rescued a budgie that had flown into our balcony and got Noodle to give her company. Here she is looking at him like "wtf is wrong with you?"

Dunno how this will get used, but for now, here's my very dumb budgie, Noodle.
