Back in the mid-to-late 20-teens, I had already recorded a nearly complete version of Red Sky Warning. My producer Blake Morgan and I listened to these early takes together, and we both had the same reaction - the songs needed a completely different recording approach.

What an amazing time I’m having. With three recent singles out, my music is reaching its largest audience ever (by far). My new album arrives June 6, and I can’t wait.

I was approached by AAA some years ago to write music for a marketing campaign. They didn’t want a jingle, they wanted a brand anthem - a “real” song that was somehow related to what they do without any direct references. I thought, “Sure, I can do this——indie rock needs a song that’s..." (1/5)
