Not exactly what you're talking about, but this reminds me of "Country Squares" which came out by Post and was followed by "Pop Tarts" from General Mills. It came out at a time when being a "square" from the country wasn't the top aspiration of most people. They renamed them "Toast'em Pop Ups."

It's overwhelming. And unfortunately that is exactly what the regime wants. I'm worried that they'll have the system so rigged we won't be able to dislodge the worst in the mid-terms and get some balance back in the government.
