My oldest Butler ancestor in America was Richard Butler a Deacon in Thomas Hooker's church. He and his brother came to Hartford from Massachusetts with the Hooker party, and are named on Hartford's founder stone. I've read a description of Richard's property, but only recently found a map of it.

My wife is from Portland Oregon. We have spent countless weekends with friends and family that live there. The only reason there is upheaval there is due to the ICE agents who are instigating violence and terror.
Our own government has turned against its people.
We have a tyrant in the white house.

Seems like we never hear about those proud boys these days. My guess is they all joined the ice squad so they could get paid while stirring up trouble.

As one of 28 million claimants, I got my $36 dollars from a class action suit against Facebook for its privacy policy violations.
Taking that straight to the bank!

He wants a war department so he can be offensive. He can't be any more offensive than he is now.
Oh, and just to be equally offensive: #epsteinfiles

Finally ready to admit that I fell off a ladder on Monday while picking cherries. The fruit ladder that I have is usually very stable, but unfortunately the ground was soft enough for one leg to sink in. Results: two fractured ribs and a nasty bruise on my leg.

@da3v3id.bsky.social thought you might appreciate this image. Every single post and rail had these cute little flags flying.

Just had a woman walk in our back door thinking we were the Church where they hold AA meetings. The Church is a huge brick building next door. I said, "No big deal." and she apologized repeatedly. But the thing that bugged me was after apologizing, she said, "You should lock your door."

Forty five years ago, when Mount Saint Helens erupted in Washington state, Ruby was visiting me in Seattle. She learned of the eruption when she got on the Greyhound Bus. I learned when she finally got home and called.
I didn't own a TV and cell phones and the internet were still years away.

Pope Francis was a great person. May he rest in peace.

Never thought of myself as Irish, but the name Butler is said to have originated with Theobald FitzWalter who was the chief Butler (from Botlier or wine steward) to the Irish court.

Woke up at 2:30am hoping to get a glimpse of the lunar eclipse. But only had the energy to stick my face up against the bedroom window and stare into space for 5 minutes.

This image was not photoshopped. It is a 90 second image taken with a 35mm camera in a low light room. After 45 seconds my surrogate niece, Sita, merely shifted her position from one arm to the other.

First days after solar panels turned on: Day 1: turn on at sunset. 2nd day, clouds. 3rd Rain. 4th day a mid-day power outage and without a battery, power is not collected by us or the grid. Frustrating, but still glad to have it up and running.

One unexpected benefit of an electric car is not having to pay for emissions testing. (The truck, on the other hand, is not so lucky)

A favorite photo from a trip to Scotland in 1978 with my brother. I may look all hale and hearty, but the rough seas our ferry was traveling on was turning me almost as green as my hat.
