(On the other hand I've been in plenty bits of Budapest over the years which are also pretty grey. And plenty of gorgeous bits of rural Hungary)

Plus French and German feel more useful than Spanish for interacting with the UK's biggest neighbourhood trading block (though that is just a gut feeling, I have no data)
