Getting the GOP to agree to pay back pay is just getting them to admit that they had planned on breaking existing law.

This is not negotiation. It's harm reduction and it's all the Dem party knows how to do.

They do not know how to win a fight, & I often wonder if they ever actually want to.

Ha thanks for the laugh... totally stealing that
November 10, 2025 at 9:32 PM
I'm afraid that's the truth. And that's why I think Schumer needs to go even more than if he was just incompetent
November 10, 2025 at 7:20 PM
So who's gonna step up and admit that Schumer needs to be replaced since he's incapable of keeping his caucus in line?
November 10, 2025 at 7:03 PM
So maybe not the architect, but playing the role of ignorant stooge instead. I could see that.
November 10, 2025 at 7:01 PM
@jvl.bsky.social I almost always agree with you. Not this time. Chuck has got to go.
November 10, 2025 at 6:59 PM
Fair. But I like to call them part of the corporate controlled opposition.
November 10, 2025 at 6:52 PM
I don't care about talking points, and a lot of young voters don't either.

They care that this is the conditioned response of the Democratic Party.

They don't know how to win.

They don't know how to lead.

They are corporate owned controlled opposition.
November 10, 2025 at 6:10 PM
I will have to kindly disagree with you. You & I are not reading this situation the same.

This is a massive win for the GOP & shows that the Democratic Party is still in fact corporate owned. Look at how angry everyone is at this capitulation.

This is a massive miscalculation by party leadership.
November 10, 2025 at 6:09 PM
My major complaint is the complete lack of vision and understanding of what is needed in this struggle.

Schumer either orchestrated this whole thing or is such a useless leader that he couldn't stop it.

Dems are corporate controlled opposition and don't know how to win legislatively.

Past behavior predicts future behavior.

Not to mention the fact that Speaker Johnson has stated unequivocally that they have no intention of bringing up the budget or the ACA subsidies again.
November 10, 2025 at 5:35 PM
This!!

I'm so glad that they think trading all of our leverage for a performative vote in a month and a half is worth it.

What a bunch of clowns.
November 10, 2025 at 5:33 PM
Not to mention the fact that Trump has shown a willingness to break the law when it comes to terminating federal employees. The Senate can't guarantee shit right now.
November 10, 2025 at 4:42 PM
This.

He was either the architect of this, or he is so incompetent as a leader he was unable to stop it.

Both are damning.
November 10, 2025 at 4:40 PM
Exactly.

Voters sent a message and leadership decided to go with their donors instead.

They rode the energy to an electoral victory, and then dumped on us.
November 10, 2025 at 4:36 PM
We literally just had a massive election cycle. People were energized & starting to rally their community because we knew it was going to get tough

Fighting fascism is going to be uncomfortable & these weak willed senators can't fathom betraying their corporate donors

Airlines must've been big mad
November 10, 2025 at 4:09 PM
I mean, there very well may be. They'll still vote no.

And speaker Johnson has said that they will not hear any other debate about the budget at this point.

So we lost. We gave up all of our leverage for nothing.

We inflicted the longest shutdown in US history only to capitulate.
