First base issue. If UK government wants to spend its £86m investment in science effectively, UK will need the next generation of chemists. Less UK chemistry degrees will mean less available talent and impact success

Fully support the move to scrap funding for master's apprenticeships (oxymoronic?!). Emphasis must be on investing in young people as they embark on their working lives and less on graduates getting MBAs on the cheap
