18 Halloweens ago. The time I told my preschool class that the gingerbread man we were baking had escaped from the oven. THEY WERE TERRIFIED.

I am so tired of people equating "edge" with "good" writing, and people implying I can't be a serious writer because of the things I love. Bradbury himself inoculated himself early against such foolishness. Love what you love. Write what you love. Tell everyone else to fuck the fuck off.

Important context that I'm not seeing widely reported in Nexstar's leap to cancel Jimmy Kimmel and appease the FCC and the US authoritarian Administration -- Nexstar is seeking FCC approval for a $6.2 billion merger.

My spellchecker doesn't think "razzle-dazzle" is a word, but "frazzle-dazzle" is just fine.

Give 'em the old frazzle-dazzle
Dazzle-dazzle 'em
Give 'em an act with lots of deflazzment
And the reaction will be flatulent

Imagine going into a bookstore and purchasing a book and being told that it can only be read in an authorized cafe. And when the cafe owners fail to maintain it and the the paint is peeling and the lights are flickering--too bad. When they finally go out of business, the book is unreadable.

Remember folks, Texans pubic officials are only allowed to flee the state if there is a natural disaster and if they are Republicans.

Dear Expensive Inner Sleeve Company Team,

I have tried your fancy inner sleeves and they failed to protect my vinyl records. There is carpet fuzz all over my vinyl! These sleeves are garbage!! What a ripoff!!!

And now Asimov's has been delisted from The Submission Grinder. The contracts have ongoing and very serious issues despite what the SFWA's cheery press release might lead you to believe. This is not a time to let your guard down.

IZ (Gareth Jelley) disabled replies and quote posts. This isn't a conversation, this is performative self-righteous self-aggrandizement.

Refusing to acknowledge the harm of making a public example of a select few author's book covers out of many and is super shitty, creepy & abusive behavior.
