I'm looking forward to manifesting a new assessment future together with the support of this amazing network of culturally responsive evaluation and assessment professionals.

Had the opportunity to present on culturally specific assessment, QuantCrit and on the convergence of both of those research directions. It was encouraging to hear from others how they are enacting culturally responsive assessment in the current political environment.

Yes, and, reliance on standardized measures that do not account for the strengths and needs of these pupils, can contribute to maintaining such patterns. We must think about the broader impact of the research questions we pose and, in particular, the data used to answer them.

Culturally specific assessments are offered as a means to the problem of measurement disjuncture.

b) individuals from purposefully marginalized groups cannot receive credit for what they know outside of the dominant culture; and c) individuals from marginalized groups must change the complexion of their being in order participate in the assessment activity.

Practically, some effects of measurement disjuncture are a) it penalizes individuals with limited exposure to the dominant culture producing the assessment instrument;

Measurement disjuncture affects the establishment of measurement validity, and, hence, the inferences made based on the scores derived from such assessments. This is primarily due to the introduction of measurement error caused by the misalignment.
