Schumer is far from perfect, but he’s a master of relationships w all types of people. NY politics is rough & tumble. DC is a whole different world. If Mamadani wants a strong relationship, he’ll get one. I suspect this relationship will do just fine. Inevitable clashes with Trump will forge bond.

1. Understandable. They should be upset about this Trump tariff policy.
2. When the tariffs were imposed, this problem was readily apparent. What has Grassley done for the last several months to avoid this moment of crisis? Tweeting now seems performative. What actual steps is he taking even now?
