We christened our sailboat the “Aether Wind” - Luminiferous Aether, the stuff that carries light waves, is the universal medium for the transmission of electromagnetic wind as the Earth orbits the Sun - after all, we are surfers and scientists.

I had not done any open-water scuba diving since my bout with long Covid, and it did not go as planned, or in doctor speak… “Scuba diving after Post-Acute Sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 Infection (PASC) is contraindicated because of the increased risk of barotrauma due to decreased lung compliance.”

Strangler figs (pictured above) are not just destructive; they are also very ecologically important in tropical areas. The hollow center of the tree provides habitat for critical bat and bird species, and they are considered a ‘keystone species’ with fruit providing a food source for other animals.
