This week, I received a notification in my news feed that a Michigan man whose three young sons vanished without a trace has been charged with their murders. A story I have been following for nearly 15 years. www.linkedin.com/pulse/did-yo...
Did you ever have a role that had a lasting impression on you?
Over a decade ago, when I was a media consultant, I took a role as the Public Relations Director for a small film project on the NBCUniversal backlot. The project was a streaming, and rolling, awarene...

In the Ojibwe and Cree cultures, “Leadership” didn’t mean “Power”, it meant “Caring”. ― Tanya Talaga. True leadership is not about titles or positions; it's about how you treat people. Respect is earned through actions, empathy, and integrity. Caring leaders elevate us all. #WednesdayWisdom

Coral restoration is made more difficult if not impossible given rising temperatures and acidity. There is no guarantee that corals restored from past populations will be able to survive the harsher conditions of the future. #FridayFieldUpdate

“Plankton, a shimmering phosphorescence on the sea, and the spinning planets and an expanding universe, all bound together by the elastic string of time. It is advisable to look from the tide pool to the stars and then back to the tide pool again.” ― John Steinbeck, ‘The Log from the Sea of Cortez’

At 25, I chased status.
At 35, I chased freedom.
At 45, I started over.
At 55, I’m starting over again.
Many people never evolve because they fear change.
Change isn’t risky; staying the same is.
It is going to be amazing to watch. Stay tuned.

I apologize for my long unexplained absence on other social media accounts and thank everyone for their concern.

To quote Mark Twain, "The report of my death was an exaggeration".

Long story, short. I’m on BlueSky now, and I’m back.

Tragically, the ocean has reached the climate tipping point I've been warning about. Scientists from around the world agree that unless global heating is cut to 1.2°C as fast as possible, warm-water coral reefs will vanish. #TippingPoint #Climate #Coral

Alongside the Big Cypress Bend boardwalk is a ‘Strangler Fig’ wrapped around a tree stump within the expansive Fakahatchee Strand Preserve. To quote John Muir, "I go to nature to be soothed and healed and to have my senses put in order. In every walk with nature one receives far more than he seeks."

My ancestral claim to piracy, or more accurately, privateering, is that Thomas Hickman-Windsor, 1st Earl of Plymouth, Governor of Jamaica, issued a privateering license to Capt. Henry Morgan in 1665. #TalkLikeAPirateDay

When most people think of Florida, they most often think of the beaches or the theme parks, but the Florida I remember is the “Old Florida” - dirt roads through palmettos, the Everglades “river of grass,” boardwalks over wetlands, and natural springs.

Tall tales of Jose Gaspar lent an air of mystery and adventure to my childhood summers on Little Gasparilla Island. There I searched for treasure and a pirate kingdom watchtower, atop a Calusa mound. Jimmy Buffett sang about ‘One Particular Harbour’ – and for me, that was Charlotte Harbor.
