This is a photo posted by Alan Pettingale to LinkedIn. Good image to have in mind when someone says, “they don’t build like they used to.” Shows the actual arching action of the masonry even with the flexible lintel. #historicbuildings #masonry #restoration

Photograph (devil’s horns) of March 29, 2025 eclipse as observed east of Caribou, ME at sunrise. Northern Maine was the only area that was free of clouds and far enough east that sunrise occurred while the eclipse was near peak, though not total. #eclipse #sunrise #photography

Let’s hope the Buffalo Bills win the AFC Championship Game and we don’t have to listen to the insufferable tomahawk chant any more this year.

Throwback: The Patriots are expected to hire Josh McDaniels to be their offensive coordinator, sources say, his third stint in this role.

Vaulted sidewalks (sometimes referred to as hollow) are a common feature of historic buildings in Boston. At 26 Court Street, aka City Hall Annex, it is interesting to see the foundation wall and the steel structure supporting the facade without the sidewalk in place. Full renovation is underway.
