My observations on the isocpp survey results:

7.9% of respondents said "Interop with memory-safe languages (e.g., Rust, Go, C#, Java)" is a tool relied on for managing code safety in C++.

20% of respondents said Rust is used in their current and recent projects, up from 18.37% last year.🧵

I'm trying to make sense of the bill that just got passed in the Senate.

www.congress.gov/119/bills/hr... is the text and it applies to this document: www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/PL...

Here are some of my findings so far...

Memory safety disinformation abounds

- Profiles make C++ memory safe. They don't.
- Memory safety plans involve rewriting all your C++ code. Wrong.
- Rust is just as unsafe because of its 'unsafe' keyword. Untrue.
- Memory safety is no longer a concern because Trump. False.

4 of my kids saw NJ drones last night during a ride home. They saw about a dozen and at one point saw nine in a cluster. At another point one hovered close and it was, indeed, about the size of a car.

So, yeah, it's a thing.
