There's nothing radical about being appalled at this. Common decency is not radical.

Ah well. Canada is nicer anyway.

Lucky for Boris Johnson that he renounced his US citizenship a few years before he was fined for committing crimes in Downing Street.

In 2020. When he became leader. As his quote says. That world.

There was a ton of very logical commentary, in 2020 (when Starmer became leader IIRC), saying that there was no electoral precedent for any opposition party obtaining the sort of swing that Labour needed from their 2019 result, within the timeframe of a single parliamentary term.

True, 'lots' is not 'everyone'.

But to use the term 'everyone' in colloqual speech to imply 'very many' is quite common, and generally understood as such, I think.

I'm pretty sure that, when he said 'everyone' here, he didn't literally mean the entire world's population.

Not a big defender of Starmer, but to be fair on this point, I clearly recall *LOTS* of political commentators from across the spectrum saying both of these things.

My controversial take is that this type of behaviour was worsened by the Boris Johnson government. For several years, the public were taught that rules, or norms, or common decency don't apply to people who have a big enough ego, and in fact our leaders seemed almost proud of their transgressions.

If I wanted guaranteed front page publicity, the sure-fire way would be to slightly dirty some plexiglass near an important object.

Same story for every bit of high-news-profile art attacks. Every time they take great care to make sure the art itself is untouchable. And every time the reporting and confected outrage fails to mention this. Guaranteed publicity.

(Yes, I am puerile.)

So in your case, I guess any sports-style bottle would do.

He failed to mention that he's sitting next to a draft dodger.

Must have taken a lot of sherry to fuel that decision.

I bought a t-shirt with a reference to this lyric on it. To my considerable disappointment, I'd say less than 2% of my friends and acquaintances got the reference.

You stole their parcel, and expect them to randomly knock on doors to work out who stole it?

Why on earth should she apologise? What about her tweet, and its context, merits any sort of apology? Serious question.

The cleaners in the office I work in routinely configure loo rolls like this. They clearly hate us. (I would do the same in their position TBH.)
