Idle Hands and City
Strange one that. Great game for first 11. All I can think is the physicality of the Newcastle game after internationals took more of a toll than Pep’s letting on. He alluded to it. And let’s be honest the Leeds game whilst Chelsea play Arsenal IS more important. So I kinda get it, just backfired.

Just a bad game to have after an international break. Especially with ref allowing a physical game. Got bullied a bit. Scrappy as hell and fell the wrong way for us. Not much more to it than that.

There was definitely a point when bowling alleys just went “you know what, fuck it, wear whatever shoes you want”. Accept your whole historical schtick has been wrong. Be more bowling alley.

Can we pinch the City Women’s set piece coach? 8 goals from them in 9 games.

Took a picture of just the ref after Doku scored to remind myself of the best view I’ve had of a goal since I was sat behind Elano for his Newcastle freekick. Peach.

Such a good performance. All across the pitch. Doku will get the plaudits (and rightly so), but Nunes and O’Reilly both absolutely brilliant. Just buzzing with all of that, proper good stuff.

Remember being so unbelievably happy for Del Piero when this went in. Juve were my European team when I was little and Del Piero my hero, yet he had such a weird relationship with the Italian National team. Could never understand why he was the scape goat and it just never clicked properly for him.
On Alessandro Del Piero’s birthday, a reminder of one of the most dramatic counter-attacks in World Cup history…

Just remembered this. I was living in London and having to get an hour tube every day with an early iPhone and this was my life.

Ahh just seen about KDB. Gutted for him.

Paul Merson doesn’t seem to know anything about football at all. How was he so good at it?

Could sense one, so annoying. Hopefully just a stamp on Nico, but looked more like a twist when it happened and not seen replay since. Fingers crossed Rodri and Kovacic can get fit enough to share the role for couple games.
Very good first half that. Getting our swagger back. Especially against a team seemingly out to grab and kick us whenever they can. Hopefully they don’t get too cynical and we can avoid injuries.

Has anyone asked Carragher if it’s possible Wirtz chose the wrong club yet?

Turned the screw the second half and should’ve been way more by the end. Pep made some great changes. And gotta say think Ndiaye put in the best defensive performance against Doku I’ve seen all season. And caused all sorts of problems. He’s some player.

This is very much a post-international break game. Shite.

What’s happened to McAtee? Is he injured or just joined the wrong at the wrong time?

Inside No. 9 Stage Fright is one of the best things I’ve ever seen. If you’re going later this week in Manchester I’m jealous, I wanna go again.

Those dreaded words that send shivers down the spine:

“John Stones starts for England”

Godspeed, John.

Sounds as good as it could, really.

There’s no way O’Reilly has taken as long taking that throw as they have fuckin about before taking the long ones

Good result but horrible second half that. Hindsight a wonderful thing though, in truth apart from Donnarummas one save that was just facing a bunch of long throws and Henderson lumping it into the wind. We were very solid. Just lacking the cutting edge up top still.

Such a shame. Hamstring can hopefully not be too bad comparatively…Got the break to recover initially too. Just have to wait and see how much longer after that.

Not sure that’s the team most were expecting. Big for Savinho/Bobb.
