Olympic sprinters run an all-out mile. Gabby Thomas actually did pretty well at 5:43. Of course she ran the first 200 in about 30 seconds and it looked like she was jogging! #running www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uy4E...

In my case, my condo HOA won't allow us to install solar. Technically this is legal because the law in NC requiring HOAs to allow solar postdates our HOA, but it still sucks.
NEW: Voters who are not interested in installing home solar panels say that the high upfront cost is the primary barrier.

This is brilliant (and I am terrible at chess!). The idea is simply to allow players to move any piece at any time—you don't have to wait for your turn. He built a board to enforce the only limitation: once you move a piece, you can't move it again for 5 seconds www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7Vt...

What in the Facebook algorithm makes AI photos with the caption "why don't pictures like this ever trend" rise to the top of my thread? Drives me bananas, especially since they are generally spewing hate.

I love this guy's stuff. Just about the sketchiest "maker" YouTuber out there, where you feel like what he's building just *might* work! Right on the border of sanity... www.youtube.com/watch?v=UsDw...

A huge peeve of mine is folks that wash their dishes before using the dishWASHER. Yes, the machine in fact washes the dishes for you, and it does it more efficiently than you do. If it's not working, clean your filter www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/g...

Really great work from @andershviid.bsky.social and colleagues. This underscores the value and importance of keeping up to date on COVID-19 vaccines among older adults.

More on the Richmond Half Marathon. I came back from vacation bloated last September. Signed up for a race to motivate myself to lose weight. The race is tomorrow and I *almost* hit my goal weight. Now to see if I can hit my goal time! #running

I'm getting ready to run the Richmond Half Marathon tomorrow. The race site says it's a total of 91 feet of vertical, which seemed low, so I found the Strava of the guy who won it last year. Turns out it's more like 330 feet. Still not terrible, but not pancake-flat. See you on the course! #running
