He wants Venezuela’s oil and minerals. He has said as much.

He doesn’t have a rationale rooted in morality or security like Bush/Iraq. No casus belli. He doesn’t care about that stuff!

It’s the same with the tariffs. And with wanting territory (Greenland, Panama, Canada). It’s 19th c colonialism!

I read this more as the business wing of the party turning on Trump, and don’t expect one iota of fairer coverage of left-leaning politicians.

You know, I hear a lot more comments about how Buttigieg is great at messaging than I do great messages from Buttigieg.

Can everyone stop the meta-narrative stuff for a while? Actually good stuff will get shared and succeed on its own.

He trails off at the end, when he gets close to contemplating who he is. It cuts off there - I'm guessing he catches himself and either turns towards some bullshit or just changes the subject.

“Would the far-right conservative party have eliminated the institution that has been their most effective weapon in defense of racism?”

They know that with the Articles of Confederation gone, the Senate and the filibuster is their best bet. This is not difficult to understand.

I honestly think many of them would do this even without the campaign funds.

No idea this person's politics, but anyone who claims to support disabled people and simultaneously denigrates the way some people read and learn is showing their ass.

It calls to mind the old, collegiate Senate where members see one another as a ruling elite who safeguard their privileges and prerogatives. People who “see Presidents come and go.”

In reality, any of these Dems might be arrested by Trump and the Senate letters sent in response will mean nothing.

Costly signaling is pretty classic cult/religious behavior.

It's not the principle he cares about, it's the issue. Tariffs are an albatross around Republican's neck. Let me know when he restored USAID, and I'll reconsider the issue of his intellectual honesty.

Yeah, I saw some really thoughtful breakdowns of this and thought, “why are such strong minds focused on this obvious hack?” And I guess it’s because it’s still not clear to everyone?? But why isn’t it? 😫😭

When’s the audio released??

Only now the cheater has gone from stealing bills to threatening to beat up the other players, and it’s clear this person shouldn’t even be allowed to stay in your house.

Republicans have been combative with the media my entire life. Dems usually act like they’re looking to win a merit badge.

It’s like when you’re playing Monopoly and someone has been grabbing $500 bills from the bank. Dems are the dumbass who commit to winning by the rules despite that.

I downloaded the audio/ opened it in Audacity and started using the noise reduction feature. The audio in this video is bad - other sources might help - but sounds like her mumbling starts with "your mother's...". The question drowns out the rest of it... Maybe a voice separator could help.

This Supreme Court believes it’s alright for us to have a dictator. The idea they’re going to say you are ineligible to be president if you are ineligible to be *elected* is probably wishful thinking, sadly.
October 30, 2025 at 3:39 PM
Alright… I think you’re wrong. I think the effect of what you’re saying is that local elections should be dominated by the most affluent citizens. Even if that’s not your intent.

Everything you list (same day registration, mail in ballots) pales in comparison to the effect fractured elections has.

Everyone’s voice/vote matters. It’s not only the ones you consider “informed”.

Many people barely have time to make presidential elections. Arguing they should have to show up twice as often so that they have better local journalism to read is missing the point completely.

Imagine if, instead of spending hundreds of millions of dollars on simple-minded polling analyses and their resultant tv ads, the party funded local journalists and media
