He's not a Nazi. It's completely obvious from everything he's said and done that he's not a Nazi. He is 100% on the right side of every issue regarding what he says. The problem is--he has a couple of options regarding his past conduct. Either he was one, or he is and was an idiot.

It's more that the Democratic machine is scared of the talented, momentum-building candidate who's hostile to their interests. This is their kill shot. It's certainly working over here on BlueSky. With Mainers, not so much.

If you lived here as I do, you'd have some sense of the excitement Platner's generated. Packed events, yard signs up a year before the primaries. We'll be lucky if any of those other candidates get a fraction of Platner's enthusiasm.

Yup, the town hall was packed, too. Come to /r/Maine on Reddit if you want to understand how actual Mainers are reacting to skullgate. It's pretty much the opposite of BlueSky. Also, before anyone says "of course it is", Maine went for Harris by seven points.

Whether he's lying or not is a judgement call. I've watched many of his interviews. I found the apology convincing. You may disagree, but yelling at anyone who believes him, saying that THEY are Nazis themselves and are acting in bad faith, is silly. This is why we're considered purist scolds.
