Privileged, middle aged, white woke man, fighting for social equality and a healthy 🌍. I also like having fun. I’m not really on threads any more.
My slow purge has begun.

X went in 2024

Threads last week

All news sources will leave my phone this month

I’ll still be here on Bluesky, on LI and Facebook for connecting.

I have no need of all this craziness in my life. I have work to do. Greatness to achieve.

Politicians need to wake up to the 21st Century reality :

You cannot be friends with #Trump and the #EU.

You need to choose. Be friends with one and cordial with the other.

I’d be in Europe. But #Labour is confused.

Elon musk - idiot
Donald Trump - idiot
Nigel Farage - idiot
Keir Starmer - idiot
Vladimir Putin - lunatic

With all the idiots and lunatics running stuff…where did all the smart people go?

So, the #king’s brother isn’t just a pedo. He also invites spies round to dinner.

What is the #royal family for again?
December 15, 2024 at 8:34 PM
Let’s assume #elon_musk is worth $250bn.

And his wealth grows at 15% in 2025.

And imagine if you could tax the increase in his wealth (just the increase) at 50%

That would bank the government $19bn dollars.

And #musk would have $269bn left.

Enough for him to still buy Mars in 2026.

This is obviously such a bullshit idea.

#Housing should take priority over #golf_courses. Golf courses should be compulsory purchased for housing developments.

Problem solved and nature saved.

Quelle surprise?

The wealthy are deliberately dividing us. So that they can continue to scrape the cream off the top of the #milk. And then drink the milk. And then leave you with an empty bottle. Which you can then all fight over.

Such fun darling.
December 12, 2024 at 6:01 PM
So here’s the thing. I’m going to use BSky now as my general brain dumping app.

And #LinkedIn for my deepthinking professional stuff.

#x and #threads are #dead now.

@uklabour.bsky.social, you have to absolutely get a grip on the #farage situation.

He is very likely to rip the rug out from underneath your feet at the next election. Underestimate him at your peril.

If he gets anywhere near power. Then I am done with the #UK.

Can Nigel Farage turn Reform into a serious contender for government?
Support for the rightwing populist party is growing fast but its path to power remains rocky

@uklabour.bsky.social.

Time for action.

If you think you can negotiate with #Trump. You are wrong. We can forge a stronger relationship with the #EU and that is what the #people want.

So go do it.

Dump Trump. It will cause a whole load of diplomatic fun and games.
“54% of Britons who voted leave, including 59% of voters in “red wall seats”, said in exchange for single market access they would now accept full free movement for EU and UK citizens to travel, live and work across borders.”

firstly, why all the talk abou #growth as we enter the post growth era.

And second - why is #labour so opposed to the #free movement of young people?

And third - why can’t we have a platform of free movement, and free trade within the #eu?

What are you scared of?

#ai is rubbish. Look at this omnishambles from #chatgpt:

Seriously. Rather not use #ai.

So the haves have convinced the have nots that the haves don’t have and the have nots need to hate on the other have nots so that the haves can have even more than the have nots.

I’ve gotten a bit of a wacko idea that we could form a movement to defund Wall Street.

I hold some savings in a #pension scheme. I hypothesise that we can apply pressure to asset managers to defund #Trump’s project through withdrawing our capital from the US stock market.
November 19, 2024 at 3:46 PM
Also. It’s 19 November, I was kinda wondering when Autumn would come.

And then.

Boom. Fcuk autumn, we’ll get straight into winter then.

What is the actual point of weather forecasters?

Absolutely and completely always wrong.

No snow❄️ forecast today. And it’s legit been snowing for about 3 hours today.

I might start billing #GlastonburyFestival for the time I waste every year on trying to buy tickets to their stupid festival.

It isn’t mud - it is a valuable resource called #soil.

Soil is consistently washed off fields across Somerset because of poor #farming practices.

Soil washed off fields >>soil fills drainage ditches>>roads fooods>>no soil in field

Welcome George.

I may have to leave threads as well then.

Left Twitter a while ago.
Phew! Well, now that I've decided to move here properly from Ex, I guess I'd better introduce myself. I've been an environmental journalist since 1985, and a campaigner for most of that time. Here's some blah about my strange and not-always-happy life: www.monbiot.com/about/%F0%9F...
