Having also lost my father at a young age, I grew up knowing three things very well: dying, death, and moving forward. It took awhile to realize moving forward meant the denial and acceptance of self.

My dream is to teach Filipino History, not just because I’m Filipino. Studying it makes immediately apparent that ethnic studies contains an aesthetic beauty that is extremely uncomfortable: a national identity derived from the past but also the future, even the darkness that awaits.

It's pretty crazy that the entire league (and mostly Seahawks fans) got really mad that the Chiefs of all teams had the audacity to use this meme format and now the Chiefs are hellbent on having every game be a late Pete Carroll "can only win the 4th quarter" extraordinaire.
