There's some pretty important info that's being left out of this article that's covered in the IGN article. To me that additional information makes it seem like this is a move to make stockholders excited more than do anything meaningful.

They told people who bought 1060s a card that had come out barely 2 years earlier that they couldn't hit 60. It's basically the exact same situation as the 4060 recommendation for Wilds except for the 4060 is a substantially worse card in 2024 compared to what the 1060 was in 2018.

Looking at the actual CPU usage in presentmon doesn't seem to make that the case I genuinely think Pat's CPU might be dying because if he has a 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU they all suffer degradation because of Intel's incompetence. The CPU is actively waiting on the GPU.
