My overall take is that I can get around issues because I have years of troubleshooting experience relying on Stack Overflow and reading programming books, but that modality is de-emphasized with LLMs and I do really wonder if critical thinking is being really eroded in the coding world rn. Idk.

At worst you continually supply error codes and it will almost never resolve them. A huge time suck.

As a regular R programmer, I can tell you that its okay at fixing small code errors with snippets of code, and its okay at writing simple programs that rely on existing basic math, but it is pretty terrible at complex problems. At best it can help you conceptually.
