As the retirement looms for Hiroshi Tanahashi, the Ace, the Man of the Century, it's only fitting that he get the proper Kamen Rider collaboration rather than just being a villain in the Ex-Aid movie where he's 2nd banana to Pac-Man. Kamen Rider Kabuto was where he openly admits he got his pose from

It’s just past 2 AM and I have work in 6 hours. But one haunting thought reverberates throughout my psyche, a mantra as it were—wait a second. Good thing the water is clear to see through because otherwise I wouldn’t have spotted the 7 foot SHARK that swam up to the shore in front of me. With no lifeguards it was interesting to see how regular people convey “there’s a shark” (they run and wave like they’re saying “hi” & it’s misunderstood)

Good thing the water is clear to see through because otherwise I wouldn’t have spotted the 7 foot SHARK that swam up to the shore in front of me. With no lifeguards it was interesting to see how regular people convey “there’s a shark” (they run and wave like they’re saying “hi” & it’s misunderstood)
I could and rightfully should be inside all weekend, as I usually am. But instead I am at the state park where the sun is getting on me. Unacceptable. I suppose it probably looks a little different outside for most places in November but verifying this would require that I look outside of the window

The surprising bit of this Marvel Rivals “leak” isn’t that the next characters to be added will be Rogue and Gambit, but that their default skins will actually be the classic costumes. Usually you have to pay extra for the original appearance. Maybe what they’ll do is charge for their picnic outfits

They only ever released one volume digitally in 2019 which I purchased. The actual landing page is gone where the ad copy attempted to justify it as "a stress-relieving manga," but it remains in my Kindle library. The quality was basically about as good as the fan scanlations which got to volume 11:

Sheey-it, look at that lineup for the November 2025 Humble Choice. There is Total War: Warhammer III, a game which I have spent several hundred hours on and am not actually particularly good at despite being at it for a decade. Someday I’ll encounter people I know who also play & enjoy a game I play

If I wait until 3:30 AM to post this, then nobody will notice that this Halloween, I thought I was secure in the comforts of my domicile until I found myself the victim of a home invader. I was assailed by what appeared to be some sort of vampire woman @sadnightcrimes.com, with no El Santo in sight:

Damn, just call me Anna Jay except I actually won. The logic governing what you have to do in order to win/not die at Nightmare IV is entirely different from all the other Marvel Zombies difficulty levels in Marvel Rivals. It's also really time consuming; 3 times I got to the 20th wave just to lose.

I was reminded of this excerpt from Cyndi Lauper’s autobiography, where she talked about going to Japan in the 1980s and surmising her popularity there had to do with the fact that she must have come across as looking & behaving like an anime character to them. Can I just note Google Books sucks now

Looks like the code worked. Finally, I can now name an Aleks Le-voiced character with a recognizable costume! (I usually set Street Fighter 5/6 character voices to Japanese so I never really heard him as Luke, but Luke was also such a busted character in Street Fighter V that I barely played any 6.)

It took me about 13.5 hours, but with a day to spare I managed to once again get from Bronze III (the lowest possible rank) to Gold III in Marvel Rivals. That was something in the ballpark of 60 games to go up six ranks. With each new season they derank you, and you have to hit Gold for the cosmetic

It took me about 13.5 hours, but with a day to spare I managed to once again get from Bronze III (the lowest possible rank) to Gold III in Marvel Rivals. That was something in the ballpark of 60 games to go up six ranks. With each new season they derank you, and you have to hit Gold for the cosmetic
Sometimes you have to stay up until 2:30 AM to win a single game of Marvel Rivals after losing and losing. 14 losses in a day and 7 wins. No amount of voice or text comms in Silver can make teammates not walk into spam heroes. To rank up to Gold III, I'd need 5 wins...consecutive. I have 3 days left
