I've done quite a few longer road trips in the Model 3 SR+ but this was one of the more challenging.
Since it was only 300 odd km between stops I didn't do the usual 200-250km toilet/charging stops.
Highway speeds and elevation changes meant energy use 142Wh/km was higher than the vehicle average.

Nice to use the Tesla Supercharger in Tenterfield.
So fast.
It was finished by the time we took a few snaps of the former deputy PM's office and walked to the pub to order a meal.

I travel quite a bit but I don't do many 650km day trips and I wonder how many people do?

Spewing expletives here.
That is a ridiculously low ball price.

Hello Rex
You seem like a fellow who has Australia's interest at heart.
What are your thoughts on submarine alternatives.
For example Australia acquiring nuclear weapons for defence instead of US submarines?

How about a new tax for all the woke, freeloading, parasites, spongers, leeches, moochers, hanger-ons, bloodsucking, deadbeat, cheapskate, tightwads that are shrinking revenue by buying something other than a huge V8 SUV. #sarcasm

In fairness to the EV critics, things could have been a lot more difficult if you purchased something other than Tesla Model 3.
They are incredibly efficient vehicles and excellent for highway trips.

Interesting read.
I guess a lot of EV owners collect data compared to combustion engine owners.
The biggest thing I learned was that people overestimate their km travelled per day and range requirement.

😂

Looks like they do removals too.
No idea of cost.

Last I read Moto3 is considering moving to Yamaha CP2 700 twins.
Nice engine but I never imagined MotoGP could go from 125cc two strokes to that.

On a separate note.
Fonzarelli Z series scooters looks like the electric scooter future we dreamed of 10 years ago.

True indeed

More trips since buying the EV?

The new radar image seems lower quality to me.

Some other details from the study to consider.
The article is comparing BYD LFP with Tesla NMC chemistry cells.
"These material decisions influence not only manufacturing costs but also battery lifespan, safety characteristics, and environmental impact"
I think NMC cell use should be discouraged.

Cool
It can drive from Adelaide to Perth nonstop.

Current registration in QLD is $630 per year.
October 30, 2025 at 6:20 AM
If electric motor scooters like this are to succeed in Australia.
The registration costs need to be reduced to ZERO and seriously look at licencing teenagers.
Otherwise people will just use the unregistered and licence free ebikes and escooters.

With Australia and kei cars I think the best you can hope for is importing second hand.
October 29, 2025 at 6:40 AM
Plus we can make our own nuclear weapons and save a fortune on submarines.
October 27, 2025 at 1:38 PM
Not road train capable.
October 27, 2025 at 1:35 PM
I didn't love the ending.
