The sole trustee of the fund has a fidcuciary duty to look out for *our* interests. That's not being done by financing affordable housing unless the ROI on bond purchases to do so meets or exceeds the funds discount rate - which government bonds will not do.

Your affordable housing goals are admirable. Your lack of basic knowledge about who the pension trust fund belongs to, however, is dangerous.

It isn't taxpayer money to play with. It's *our* retirement fund, and it requires an proper ROI to function correctly.

As sole trustee of the trust fund, your job would be to manage money that belongs to the members/retirees of the fund for their benefit, because the fund is *their* money. It does not belong to taxpayers.
