Being a parent means you notice when Annie’s mac & cheese changes the material for their cheese powder packet and you have to use scissors to open it now but there are no longer 1 in 10 packets with the powder hard and clumped up, and you appreciate that.

(Spoiler?) Extremely disappointed that the dragon in this book is not as big as advertised on the cover. That’s a major reason I read it.
It’s only “twice as big as Snakavik’s mead hall” and it takes several bites to tear apart and eat a horse.
(That’s a human at the bottom right for scale.)

Any song in a fantasy book needs a notation telling the reader if it’s truly, vitally important to the story. Otherwise I ain’t reading that.
