So this is what I wrote to @dc.com President Jim Lee and Editor-in-Chief Marie Javins last night.
Dear Mr. Lee and Ms. Javins, I have been very impressed with DC’s recent slate of comics. I have purchased every book in the Absolute line and recommended them to many of my friends. I’ve been reading Supergirl and Zatanna and Justice League Unlimited. But my love for those books comes from the conviction those heroes show, fighting against the forces of darkness and hatred. By firing Gretchen Felker-Martin, you have unforgivably betrayed those ideals. Charlie Kirk was a misogynist, a racist, a homophobe, and a xenophobe. His demagoguery has made the world a more dangerous place for people who were already in danger simply for being themselves, and he wanted nothing more than for trans men and women like Gretchen Felker-Martin to die. So for you fire her because you found her words about a man that wished violence against her mildly distasteful is unconscionable. But that wasn’t cowardly enough for you. You had to roll over for the worst people our country has to offer and erase her one issue of work, tossing Red Hood down the memory hole rather than alienate a few fascists that don’t like you anyway. Meanwhile DC continues to profit off the work of sexual abusers it protected like Eddie Berganza and Scott Lobdell. You need to apologize to Gretchen Felker-Martin, and you need to do it publicly. You need to offer her Red Hood back, and if she spits in your face, you need to say, “We deserved that.” You both have been in the comics industry a very long time, so I’m sure you know the story of what Jack Kirby did when a Nazi showed up at the Timely offices. Maybe in the future you can both ask yourselves what Jack would do instead of rolling over for wannabe Nazis. Yours no longer, Darklighter

It's not shocking that Biden's ambassador to Israel thinks it's okay to murder Gazan children, but it's something else for him to say it out loud.
Excerpt from the article: When you would call them in the middle of the night and say, "What on earth happened?," what was usually the answer? The general pattern was that in-the-moment stories were inaccurate, and that the Israeli military and government establishment were not in a position to fully explain yet. We could almost never get answers that explained what happened before the story was fully framed in international media, and then when the facts were fully developed, it turned out that the casualties were much lower, the number of civilians was much lower, and, in many cases, the children were children of Hamas fighters, not children taking cover in places. Sorry, what did you just say? In many cases, the original number of casualties— No, I meant the thing about who the children were. They were often the children of the fighters themselves. And therefore what follows from that? What follows is that whether or not it was a legitimate military target flows from the population that's there.

The new logo and branding for MS NOW, née MSNBC.The top line is a weird white flag with two horizontal red bars to the left of text in a heavy Helvetica-like font reading “MS NOW”. The second line uses a serif font just to make it clear the designer did not give a fuck. The nonsense marketing text reads “My Source | News | Opinion | World”. It’s all on a blue gradient background that probably shipped as a standard PowerPoint template in 2003.
