Possibly. It’s what happens when you field a large number of candidates without the mechanism to investigate them first (Reform not being an actual political party despite how the media portray them).

Well I'm guessing that there would be a lot of aborted work carrying out research into all prospective candidates before election results. And the inference here is that party vetting is supposed to take care of stuff like this.
