My 16 yo son Just signed the petition to repeal the online safety act and I couldn't be prouder (you should to: petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...). Crazy Labour did this at the same time as they gave 16 yo's the right to vote.
Petition: Repeal the Online Safety Act
We want the Government to repeal the Online Safety act.

The second you have exceptions for who you treat with dignity and humanity it all starts falling apart.

Trying to use Microsoft azure ai foundry. I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a half baked product released by Microsoft. It’s shockingly bad.

I really took a long time when I decided to buy a superwide screen monitor. What a joy it is to use as a daily driver. Yes it's expensive, but a year later It's one of the few purchases I'm really grateful for making.

Security pro tip: if you find a USB key on the ground somewhere, DO NOT plug it in to your home computer.

Take it to the office and plug it in there. They have way better software that will mitigate any threats.

Couldn't agree less. If I buy a car and then sell it should the car manufacturer get a cut? Of course not. If I've bought it's mine.
Second-hand books are theft.

Interestingly, there was a proposal a few years ago to make bookshops pay for their crimes against authors.

There's no technical reason why Oxfam can't record the ISBN of each book it sells and then fairly compensate publishers.

@octopus-energy.bsky.social support from you guys over on twitter was amazing. One of the only reasons for me to stay on there. Will you be using bluesky the same way? It could be great to finally delete my twitter account!

Took this photo in Asda. That web address is very NSFW and is on the back of a barbie toy. They tried to hide it but hid the wrong part. It did give me a good chuckle!

I really like mastadon, but perhaps its a bit to steep of a learning curve for most (but it really feels like early twitter on there and I love that). This feels more like the warm and friendly twitter I miss.
