β-Lactam + Macrolide has become widely - and i mean in about 50-60% cases the treatment of choice for CAP in pakistan where the prevalence is high. Both in inpatient/outpatient setting the combination is widely used with faster recovery rates. A study needs to be conducted in a developing country.

Its mostly because of the CHECKLISTS for everything. Where i work ( 🇵🇰) , we don’t have such strict rules and top priority is to stabilize the patient asap and move him to the ward to make space for the new ones. Guess the upside of resources limitation is speed.
