In today’s atmosphere, it’s obvious why a book warning of totalitarian censorship would be in the American Library Association’s list of most commonly challenged books

when you have anti-DEI proponents openly going after black military officers for recruiting from HBCUs and suing schools for their black and Hispanic enrollment *even after the schools ended any racial preferences* then the only honest label for these people is "segregationist"
I genuinely think we should start calling businesses and schools falling to the anti-DEI movement “segregationists” because they are re-segregating. And earlier rounds of segregationists *also* explained their preferred policy in race-neutral terms (“state’s rights” and “freedom of association”).

This is a solid argument if you’ve both never been on a NY subway and are afraid of black people.

Jordan Neely** didn’t have a weapon, so there was no reason for violence let alone lethal violence.
Daniel Penny, per witnesses, was threatening to kill people. While his death was avoidable and negligent homicide should have been the verdict, to describe a man lunging at people while saying “I will kill,” after he has already started throwing things at other passengers, as “annoying” is dishonest

I finally got a flu shot.

I’ve been trying for months. This isn’t the first time administrative bullshit + my health issues have resulted in delays.

When there’s talk of “vaccine hesitancy”, keep in mind that from a distance, barriers can look like “hesitancy”.

And work to shorten the distance.
