But, if you want a similar continuous scaling, im guessing youre gonna have to go with some sort of psyker character. Dont really see any other 40k character that can progress that much in power tbh.

That is not untrue. Just saying that the ingame scaling doesnt have to make sense. By endgame we kill gods. yet we still die to 3 soldiers or a dog. Its not that the player character becoming powerful makes no sense, its that there is no real attempt to make ingame scaling between enemies make sense

A perpetual mortal with psyker potential would be an excellent fit though. In lore reason for respawning, and has enough potential to become actually powerful too. Though that might be visually harder to portray since a perpetual with psyker potential looks just like... some dude lol

I could see an inquisitor. Or maybe a solo custodian. As long as its a character that can realistically be expected to operate alone the scaling doesnt matter too much
