Sometimes I think we humans are the Turtle Fire Department, as we aren’t doing great at addressing the climate crisis.

Creating our #CarLite future has taken me a lot of time + work. Fun to bring a photo from the Wired article about my work creating the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle to life. Here it is (minus photos): www.wired.com/1998/12/mini...

Here is 90% of people in USA - going to work ALONE in their (oversized) car. But can’t have fast 50 lb e-bikes. We should make people at for all the space they waste with their car in our communities

The space we need for better bikes lanes can be found in the empty seats of the oversized cars. 90% of people in USA go alone to work in a car. Very complicated to address, but not impossible

What do the first Robotaxis remind you of? They remind me of the first personal computers. I believe they are going to develop in ways few can imagine. And I hope they enable us to move past automobile dependency -soon, and transform our car-centric communities into people-centered Villages :)

Have countries become more or less important since 1969, when the first human took a picture of earth from the moon. Coming from someone that took drugs in high school; every person, every city, and all of nature all being a part of one massive (to us) vehicle simply blows my mind !!

Related: I would bet anything that Automobile Dependency is a big part of the cause of our country’s outrageously high level of Mass Shootings. It’s a reason we are so isolated and human contact is stunted :(

Imagine if we thought of transportation in terms of Near + Far - and our community and town centers more like (ocean) “Harbors”. Our oversized highway cars are like “Yachts”, but we encouraged small “Dinghy’s” - much smaller vehicles, bikes, etc for our many Local trips.

Imagine having gone to MIT and becoming the U.S. Secretary of the EPA and never heard of a thing called a Battery :(

I have a friend who think Peter Thiel is a Libertarian. Can you believe it?!

Are you ready for a transportation future - where you no longer have to Drive - and going anywhere - anytime costs around 8 times LESS than owning your car??

Turns out doing the Nazi salute is bad for business. Elon wanted to “advance humanity” and turn X into an everything app just nuked his own brand. Tesla’s tanking. He’s alienated nearly everyone who might’ve been a customer. He didn’t just shoot himself in the foot — he flew straight into the sun.

It’s interesting to me that the majority of USA people think our country is in a state of Decline - but not one person connects our Bloated Oversized Vehicle condition as a part of the problem. (Picture shows 2 guys vehicles that drove to work :(

At Mobilitee we see sub|urban mobility in 2 sizes: (1) local vehicles + modes; (2) regional far cars. We can design a far better world with these 2 patterns leveraged :)
