Sometimes I think we humans are the Turtle Fire Department, as we aren’t doing great at addressing the climate crisis.

Creating our #CarLite future has taken me a lot of time + work. Fun to bring a photo from the Wired article about my work creating the Neighborhood Electric Vehicle to life. Here it is (minus photos): www.wired.com/1998/12/mini...

It’s like humanity is in a car - hurling down the highway at 80 mph towards a cement wall it will hit - but the crash will happen in 10+ years - and we see it happening in slow motion. And we can lessen the crash (and a lot of death + destruction if we act fast: www.theguardian.com/environment/...
Record leap in CO2 fuels fears of accelerating global heating
CO2 in air hit new high last year, with scientists concerned natural land and ocean carbon sinks are weakening

What do the first Robotaxis remind you of? They remind me of the first personal computers. I believe they are going to develop in ways few can imagine. And I hope they enable us to move past automobile dependency -soon, and transform our car-centric communities into people-centered Villages :)

Have countries become more or less important since 1969, when the first human took a picture of earth from the moon. Coming from someone that took drugs in high school; every person, every city, and all of nature all being a part of one massive (to us) vehicle simply blows my mind !!

Imagine having gone to MIT and becoming the U.S. Secretary of the EPA and never heard of a thing called a Battery :(

Today Ford shows us more of their Model e future. Billed as their “Model T” moment. I thought it would be a good time to share my recent substack post; how mobility is really about Access, and in our digital age it’s changing a lot. substack.com/@ideas2go/no...
Rethinking Access: Beyond Mobility, Toward a Smarter Way of Living
One way we will navigate out of this mire is by realizing that this is about access, not just transportation—and that digital technologies play a major role in shifting the landscape.

Why does it seem nobody is talking about ~ 50% of the insects dying out in the past 25 years?!

Where have all the insects gone?
The tiny creatures on which the world depends seem to be in decline. But what does the data really say — and what is to be done?

Column | Are electric minicars the future of city driving? We put one to the test.
Electric low-speed vehicles look like golf carts, top out at 25 mph and could offer a transportation compromise between full-sized cars and e-bikes.

Turns out doing the Nazi salute is bad for business. Elon wanted to “advance humanity” and turn X into an everything app just nuked his own brand. Tesla’s tanking. He’s alienated nearly everyone who might’ve been a customer. He didn’t just shoot himself in the foot — he flew straight into the sun.

It’s interesting to me that the majority of USA people think our country is in a state of Decline - but not one person connects our Bloated Oversized Vehicle condition as a part of the problem. (Picture shows 2 guys vehicles that drove to work :(
