Software developer, former Cathedral organist, life-long project to visit all National Rail stations.
Very useful to have the count, as I was starting to worry that my list was out of date.

It’s great! I was on the first and third trains out.

(I did spot you but was not bold enough to say hi!)

Looks like GN proudly announced them in July, so they could well be unique.

Great to see you nearing completion! I decided (for naming reasons) to make Danzey my 1000th station, back in February.

Another vote for RTT

On the right, just within shot, is a new pedestrian signpost. One of the items is “Tayfen Centre”. It points in the direction of the town centre so is likely a ridiculous typo. I wonder if/when it’ll get fixed.

It’s 5:03 for me.

It’s such a good feeling, isn’t it‽ for me, it was 20 years ago, and I did in fact do a couple more exams 10 years ago.

Yes, I was going to add these two, having used them both about 20 years ago to get to Caterham.

Meanwhile, I will try my best on other the platforms to persuade @barenreiter.bsky.social that we aren’t all like you, and that BlueSky is the place to be!

My home town! It’s a shame the station isn’t more central.

Sounds great! There’s just something about ticking off a defined list, isn’t there? Are you including all the mini versions of each one (like Tesco Express)?

I had a similar thing with Thameslink refusing a claim. They claimed that the first operator (EMR) causing a delay should pay. Problem is EMR’s delay was 10 mins and Thameslink’s was 30+. There was such a long time between each reply that I confess I have given up on that one.

I’ve just spent all evening trying (and failing) to find a photo of an old sign in Purley, pointing to Caterham, but it was shortened to Cat’rh’m. It was definitely gone by 2008 as Street View doesn’t have it, and all old photos I can find are pointing the other way.

I noticed (and enjoyed) this too!

It’s an interesting building inside, where the arches change shape halfway down the Nave. (As an organist, I also think the organ is pretty good.)
