Sandy Hermiller captured these cloud tendrils tending toward the horizon in Leipsic! Likely an example of "virga", where rain evaporates before reaching the ground.

10-DAY: Highs bouncing between the 40s and 50s for the next several afternoons in Toledo, with not much in the way of wind or rain. We've got our eye on a system just ahead of Thanksgiving, which could send those temps back near 40° for the holiday.

Fairly steady temperatures in Toledo since the early morning, and that recovery to 34-35° by dawn made a huge difference in our ice potential -- though we did have sleet pinging off the pavement in more than a few spots. We're in for the mid-40s tomorrow, and 50s to close out the week.

Happy 40th to one of the best comics (I'll say THE best) out there: Calvin and Hobbes, by Ohio's own Bill Watterson! The first strip shown below made it into the funny pages on Nov. 18, 1985.

The Big Island of Hawaii's having quite the mix of natural features lately, with recent lava fountains to the SE and up to 4" of snow today in the higher elevations. #Hawaii

Su Jones caught the crescent moon hovering over an orange horizon to greet Monday morning near Wauseon... though we're certainly starting off this Tuesday on the cloudy, rainy, and icy side (in some cases). 🌙

We're declaring a 13 First Alert Weather Day for Tuesday AM (Nov 18th). Light freezing rain and sleet is possible in a 6-hour window or so, along with a few wet flakes mixed in. This could cause slick spots on the roads for the morning commute in NW Ohio/SE Michigan.

The weekend was a tale of two halves in the temperature department, though both Saturday and Sunday proved breezy in NW Ohio/SE Michigan. 💨

Are you heading downtown tomorrow for The Blade Holiday Parade? While it'll be a mild one this year, a southwest wind will ramp up during the festivities. 💨🎄

I'll admit, I was getting a little concerned by 9pm Wednesday night that we wouldn't get a good repeat performance in the sky... but that aurora certainly delivered again after all!

Another shot from Oregon, Ohio, during Tuesday night's aurora... clouds took a while to clear along/east of I-75, though Mother Nature still put on quite a show late in the evening.

Shades of amaranth arced across the sky back on Tuesday evening. Tonight's display has mostly been a faint green low on the horizon, but still visible with clear skies across the region.
