Even if the counter snipers reported almost immediately that the attacker was down, that doesn’t mean that was the only potential sniper. So why let him stand up? Why let him fist pump in front of photographers campaign staff moved into position to get a great shot?

I worked up a Jason Bourne meets Frank Gallagher from Shameless, semi-fallen Jedi on the run flick in my head.

Haven’t fully sorted out the 3rd act though.

Every other assassination attempt the principal gets shoved down and into more cover, not up and more exposed.

My skepticism comes from the secret service standing him up and moving him across the stage in an exposed position while the flag was conveniently lowered. One would think they’d roll his butt off the back of the stage using the stage as additional cover.

I wanted to love it, ended up just liking it and haven’t rewatched it even though it’s been on HBO for a couple months now.

Unfortunately he didn’t pull it out in the end. ☹️
