The Harmonic team has been working on this for months. We’re (finally) ready to bring artists onto the platform and start selling music.

A big part of this beta is getting feedback from artists and music curators to build the platform they want to use.
Artists...we're ready for you! The Harmonic Beta is live. We're rolling this out in three stages, and the first stage is alllll about artists. If you're an artist with music to share and want your fans to be recommending it to other music fans, we want to speak with you!

Who are your favorite music critics, and where do you read their work? I'm particularly interested in finding more young/emerging voices.

Cayle is the kind of madman we need more of in 2025 — running a mission-driven indie label dedicated to supporting social causes important to its artists. Check out my interview with him for @harmonic.fm:

More than anything else, I object to this president stealing our time and attention. We can’t even have a Sunday morning without hearing about some insane thing he said and wondering if that insane thing will become real because he’s insane.

Talked about one of my favorite recent discoveries on Harmonic, “Whiskey & Wine” by Kirsten Kirk. Been a long time since I was at Berklee, and this song made me miss the feeling of being surrounded by so many incredible musicians everyday. Constant collaboration.
Harmonic co-founder @drservantes.bsky.social shares his latest recommendation from Harmonic beta testers - "Whiskey & Wine" by Kirsten Kirk! A song that starts out folky and builds into something much more, it's another highlight of why we're building Harmonic.

I’m biased, but I feel so strongly about this. With the mass amount of independent music being created, we (music fans) don’t need criticism, we need recommendations to turn us on to new music.
Has the role of the critic changed over time? Harmonic's @jefito.com makes the case that music reviewers' jobs are now to act as sherpas rather than critics. What do you think?

Restoring my childhood bass and this (ridiculous) 300 watt behringer amp that must weigh 75lbs. Got good use out of it as a teenager! Had no idea DI was an option back then.

A super insightful conversation on how business and culture of music journalism has changed over the years.

Like many things in music, it feels like it’s been hollowed out by large corporations and has left music fans disconnected as a result.
Our latest Liner Notes interview puts the spotlight on @anniezaleski.bsky.social‬, who joins us to dig deep into her life as a music fan — and discuss some of the many ways music criticism has changed over the last 25 years: www.harmonic.fm/blog/liner-n...

People talk a lot about how streaming has hurt artists, but it’s also hurt fans’ relationship with music. People used to sit down and actively, intentionally listen to music. Now we’ve been conditioned to consume it passively. Excellent article by @jefito.com
Streaming has changed our relationship with music — and not necessarily for the better. Our own @jefito.com weighs in on what it's cost us, and how Harmonic is trying to heal what's broken: www.harmonic.fm/blog/algorit...

For the vast majority of musicians, streaming is a financial non-starter — and yet they're encouraged to make it a major part of any release cycle. @drservantes.bsky.social outlines one of the numerous industry ruptures that @harmonicfm.bsky.social is working to heal:

On streaming and social platforms, artists and fans are no longer seen—they’re used. We’re treated as data, mined for clicks and content, disconnected from genuine discovery.
