For those that like personal updates, after this weekend I will no longer be a resident of Surrey having spent my whole life til now in the county I turned into a football team.

This weekend I'll be relocating to the Bristol area, starting a new job in new surroundings

Linkedin helping to tell me about plans for a new 5,000 capacity ice hockey venue in the south of Dublin which would be the home for a new team in the Elite Ice Hockey League, the second on the island of Ireland after the Belfast Giants

Finally got around to writing down the schedule list for Surrey's schedule this summer, 3rd since I initially stepped back and then left.

It's good to see the team still going. I'm especially looking forward to the Hampshire game, the only one I intend to attend. I'll keep other comments to myself.

Come back from a weekend in Dublin to have this waiting for me in the post 👀

A second game in Bucharest this trip, the Romanian Superliga with FCSB Vs Universitatea Cluj

Not part of the original plan, but Romania Vs Northern Ireland Women's Nations League in Bucharest?

Couldn't resist a last minute ticket

Google Photos reminder that soon is 4 years since the first training session for Surrey's Women team, lot of potential that just didn't have enough opportunities to take full advantage

But a great group of players and coaches involved for the two games played under the banner

Based only on this post it would appear the Afghan Development team have replaced Tibet in the women's edition of the CONIFA Asia Cup, still only 3 teams and not confirmed what the results of the draw itself was which was held yesterday

Almost 3 years to the day since the team I founded, and ran for what felt like forever, played a charity game against our county neighbours in my last campaign running Surrey, the two will be meeting again, this time across the border in Romsey on May 18th, hoping to see a repeat of the 5-0 in 2022

I know Americans arrive late, and this is before kickoff, but it's safe to say it wasn't a sellout. Another reason why it doesn't need to be held in oversized stadia or at least played somewhere people care about the team.

Canada is playing the US in the third place game, so expecting more boos

Things are about to get a lot harder for schools and students are going to suffer severely and for no reason, especially in counties that specifically voted for him

Whispers down the grapevine tell me that CONIFA isn't planning a WFC for 2026, instead plans for a 2026 EUROs instead, don't know the host but will probably hear more details after the AGM at the end of this month

Another positive meeting about tournament hosting, still work to be done before an announcement can be made but things are looking positive.

Joint UK bid for the 2035 WWC, of course I'll now be biased and support this bid if it means games just down the road from me again! 🇬🇧

CONIFA not even trying to announce anymore it seems 🤦

Some details of a joint men and women's Asian Cup in London, games at Tooting & Mitcham FC and Carlshalton Athletics FC, no dates, July previously mentioned but not confirmed and no info about teams

A CDU-SPD coalition, an almost certain outcome that'll keep the AfD out of power, but certainly some thought needs to go into how to weaken the AfD before the next election because anymore of a rise and the outcome is very different
Germany, Exit poll Forschungsgruppe Wahlen:

Seat projection

Menorca withdrew from next summer's Island Games, joining Guernsey, with the high costs of travel and accommodation being their reasons

It's that time of year again, although I'm not sure how well received it would be if I did have someone to send this to

Oh, so we're just doing outright theft now?
This is absolutely insane. Musk’s DOGE crew just straight up *took* $80 million from an NYC bank account!
Okay what is going on here. Are the accounts at a private banking entity? Does the federal government have direct debit permission set up? So many questions as to how Treasury instructed this payment. (Via NY Post’s Craig McCarthy)

My friend used to complain that I didn't take good photos (she was right) but I do like some of the non-football ones I took around Nice

While updating Unrep's branding, which took inspiration from the UWC logo, and then updating presentations that we'll give to sponsors, teams, and eventually fans, it's nice to go back and take some inspiration from Int Surrey having spent so much time developing its branding over time

"not made with America" now being a selling point in Canada is gonna do wonders for American exports 🇨🇦
This sign is at a major intersection in Toronto.

Positive chat with a potential host for next summer, certainly not confirmed, plenty of work and things to be decided before we reach the announcement stage but good to be making progress again 🙌

Republicans say they want meritocracy and then hide the stories of those overcoming adversity because they're not a privileged white man...

Rose's story is inspirational but it's one that'll now be easily forgotten
This profile has been scrubbed from the site. Rose Ferreira grew up without reliable electricity, immigrated to NY, then survived homelessness and cancer on her way to NASA. She was so moved by images from the Webb telescope she wept. This is what’s at stake
