It really is an awful look. It almost betrays a feeling of Imposter Syndrome he seems to feel about the role.
Besides being a stooge and unctuous toady, more to the point: Brendan Carr is painfully bad and awkwardly thirsty when it comes to social media. It gives off deservedly unlikable 7th grader vibe.
