This just in -- A San Mateo County Superior Court judge has ruled that the special election WILL MOVE FORWARD for Measure A next week, that could give the Board of Supervisors the power to fire Sheriff Christina Corpus.

Former Oakland Mayor Sheng Thao surrendered this morning @8:30am to U.S. Marshalls at the federal building in Oakland. I arrived in time to see Andy Duong walking in; he is one of four indicted along with Thao’s partner, Andre Jones, and Duong’s father, David. Sheng arraignment at 10:30am.

On same agenda, they want to give themselves a pay raise equal to 80% of what superior court judges make each year. The ordinance says judges make $244,727 so the supervisors’ base salary would jump to $195,782 starting to take effect in 2027.
