Bonus post for the luck potion.

It felt really strong. Rerolling the negatives was a cool af mechanic and I enjoyed it a ton. I got a lot of -s to reroll, but maybe too good? Even just rerolling each once was nuts. Perhaps one - reroll each roll, rather than one reroll for each - would be better.

Familiar: The flame hedgehog that Brigid had true named wins out this time. He was a really cool dude, I honestly wouldn't mind a familiar like that on Merlin's team. Flicker IS one of my compatible types... At any rate, your descriptions of it's attacks were gnarly and made for an iconic enemy

Concept: The actual ritual at work here to summon the Mythical. The mythicals proclivity for intelligent food provides another excellent explanation for Lekreshas capture and added a lot to the mythicals danger factor. I wish we had gotten to see it but I'm sure Fortune will come back one day!

Moment: Definitely Brigid using her Hecate Crystal. It elevated the tension and drama of a fight to a fever pitch and it felt damn good to overcome. True namingis so cool and seeing antagonists break it out is intimidating. I'm avoiding getting a crystal yet but I'm excited to see one of us use one

It's an insanely humbling experience to be 6'1" and big and then realize you're actually like, pathetically weak compared to everyone in the squad lmao. Granted my friends I'm going with are all athletic and similar height, but it still taught me to appreciate the effort others have put in

I honestly didn't really I'm just WEAK.

I didn't get physically incapacitated this week so clearly I'm getting stronger. Soon I shall begin experiencing GAINS

Concept: Edward March's lobotomy capabilities are definitely interesting and terrifying, but I'm gonna say the Lord's Hand. It was THE central item to the first arc. The earnest wishes to comfort and connect people being twisted to control the masses is such a angsty and fun concept, I love it.

Moment: I think giving the Golden Lions a guild hall takes it. It was just a comfortable and fun scene, felt like a narrative payoff for all the bullshit we'd been through recently. Feels like a page turning moment into a new era for york, as the old makes way for the new and the balance shifts

Familiar: The skull spider that steals your soul is rad. I really like how it uses the souls as lanterns, it's a neat subversion of an evil concept that gives it a more benign/innocent vibe. If I weren't Merlin I'd snap them up in a heartbeat lol. It also created some fun character moments too.

Concept: I really enjoyed the red covens plan, I think it tied together all of the moving parts in the surrounding region really well and delivered on those ideas. Especially the alpha ghoul capture plan... Though that didn't exactly work out lol. Pitting an alpha ghoul against a mythical is sick!
February 11, 2026 at 4:49 PM
Moment: Kicking the door down lmao. It's just the sort of dramatic start to a climactic fight that I love. The setup and payoff on the joke is one thing but its place in the story as a dramatic arrival to save the day and confront the bad guys is great. We don't have time to wait, GET IN THERE

The method is splendiferous

My body is not acclimating to actual exercise very well

Concept: This hypothetical duel? Sanguaro seems to have decided Ambrose must die, which seems to be quite a rude gesture from someone who wanted Ambrose to become his disciple. Still, it's a great piece of bait to help alleviate stick os concerns, and I must admit I relish the chance to spirit bomb
February 9, 2026 at 4:10 PM
Moment: Sanguaro in the ruins of dagons temple for sure. It was a surreal set piece and established some great parallels, I'm glad I picked it. Ambrose doesn't often get to speak to others who he doesn't like so it was fun to play out. It's definitely a memorable encounter for both parties.

Familiar: we didn't get to meet them yet, but I'm gonna preemptively say the guardian of the marsh gets it. It's kinda crazy we're getting to see one of these diamond spirits so soon, but I'm also just happy to have them introduced too. Their description sounded baller AF and I hope we see it!
February 3, 2026 at 7:34 PM
Concept: the few short hours we have remaining to find Lekresha before she fucking unironically dies. The story got real SO fast, and the reality of it probably hasn't fully sunk in for some of the characters, I know it hasn't for Merlin. I love working against the clock like this in ttrpgs.

Moment: Periwinkles run in with the Red Coven was really silly. In another setting a group of terrorists planning to destroy a major geographical landmark would be played straight, and of course as such we didn't here, and it was fun. I also enjoyed Peris frustrations with the local police force.
