I went to see ROOFMAN yesterday. Funny in parts, sudden changes in tone hard to keep up with, chemistry between Tatum and Dunst (I don't think she's ever not great). And it feels like an undercover Christian film, with more male nudity and swearing than the average morality fable.

Phwee-hoo what a November, what a November.

Repost with very good fictional band.

(The best thing about that film I reckon)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to TWO of the all-time greats, who I was lucky enough to see play together.

I also used it to make these, which I managed to sell enough of to get my out of a desperate spot a while ago. So it is very precious.

I have found a repair cafe though, so next month might be the saving of it.

Early sadness dispelled by absolute belter of a double from my local s/h record shop. Time to put on my cut-a-rug creepers and cut a rug to "We're All Water".

Just kidding, it's "Sunrise In The Third System".

Slightly heartbroken. My late father's projector, which has been around all my life at least, and that I still use each year to make the family calendar, went 'pop' this morning and appears to have died. It turned out a wire in the plug thing had come loose, but fixing that has not revived it.

I got a gorgeous woodcut from @matpringle.bsky.social so obviously I was careful to make sure I got the perfect frame for it.

Ah, Sloan, Toronto's finest. I hope Chris doesn't mind me sharing this pic of him and Nigel Godrich teaching the cast of Scott Pilgrim how to rock. He was a real ally on that job.

Although they do make up for a lot of that as The Town That Didn't Stare.

This is really interesting , thanks to @fennerpearson.bsky.social. For me the fact that she doesn't paint her pictures doesn't detract from them, or her. Or maybe I'm giving her a free pass because I've been such a fan for so long. Unlike, say, D. Hirst.

Mambo not quite ready for his 2OO1: A Space Odyssey leap forward yet.

Walking across Battersea Park today, it occurred to me that as an alternative to traumatising pets and people with loud (and expensive) fireworks, the council could encourage people to come and look at the trees and go "Oooh", while eating a burger.

Happy 94th Birthday to the incredible Bridget Riley. I always wondered how you managed to paint your pictures without falling over or vomiting.
Maybe you did.

On the recommendation of @southlondongirl.bsky.social and @hassinator.bsky.social I have heard the call of the Legend of Dumplings.

Bit slow with the camera.

I've only had a casual look at Celebrity Traitors but I'm quite keen to see if I can make it to tonight to watch last night's final...

Through the Gold Window II (my favourite bit of Wimbledon Common that I refer to as the steppe)

I apologise for the poor AltText but words fail me at times.

Went to see THE MASTERMIND last night. We really loved it but I would be careful who I'd recommend it to. Having said that the audience also seemed taken in by it, and all smiles on the way out.

It does say "Oh you think you're a car movie do you?" to One Battle After Another.

Wait a sec, this is the second book in three months to make reference to seedy goings-on in Half Moon Street (Mayfair, London W1). I wonder if it was that notorious or if this is just a coincidence?

The other one was The Lowlife by Alexander Baron.

I'm sad to see how Amanda Holden has plummeted in the nation's hearts. Especially as she's gone to the trouble of listing her CV.
