I think some people hear “grants” and think that without them, scientists and government workers just have less stuff to play with at work. But grants fund salaries for students, academics, researchers, and people who work in all areas of public service.

Hardly a surprise but it's still difficult to fathom the level of contempt Republicans have for servicemembers to allow this low-life untreated-alcoholic rapist TV show host with no qualifications and no redeeming qualities to be Secretary of Defense.
Consider the horrors interrupted. Until you try to pet the belly. Then it’s a different kind of horrors.

Just to clarify:
A member of Congress who supported white nationalism tried to get a Black university president fired by accusing her of anti-semitism. When that failed other white nationalists accused her of plagiarism, but needed mainstream media to treat it as a big story.
