“When you go home tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow we gave our today.”

At the 11th hour on the 11th day of the 11th month, we fall silent to remember all those who’ve sacrificed in the service of our country.

We will remember them.

This Prime Minister and this Government are cracking on with rebuilding our great country.

Decency over division. Renewal over retreat.

Lots done, lots to do. 🇬🇧🌹

Deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dickie Bird.

A cricketing legend, Dickie’s warmth, humour, and generosity made him a national treasure — but he never forgot where he came from.

Barnsley has lost a true giant.

My condolences to his loved ones.

Our new migration agreement reinforces the strength of the UK-Iraq partnership.

By working together on security and migration challenges, we are building stronger relationships and tackling shared challenges like serious organised crime and irregular migration.

Today marks 80 years since VJ Day, when World War II finally came to an end.

We remember the bravery and selfless sacrifice of those who served in the Far East.

Their service will always be honoured and their memory cherished.

We will forever be in their debt. 🇬🇧

The Heroes who made us.

75 years of The Royal Edinburgh Tattoo — still a stunning spectacle and a reminder of the selfless service of those who proudly defend our nation.

Yorkshire. Where legends are made and brews are strong!

From the Brontës to brass bands, from coalfields to cricket pitches, and from the markets to the moors — God’s own county is the best place on Earth…

… not that we ever mention it!! 😉

Happy #YorkshireDay!

One year as Security Minister.

A privilege to work with our intelligence and security services, @terrorismpolice.bsky.social, @nca-uk.bsky.social and Government colleagues to keep the UK safe. They do vital work—mostly in the shadows, always in our service.

We owe them a great debt.

We won’t tolerate criminal gangs smuggling narcotics into the UK.

That's why the Government is deepening security partnerships with Colombia and Ecuador to disrupt, deter and defeat the violent networks which threaten the safety of communities at home and abroad.

8 years ago today, the Manchester Arena attack took 22 lives and left a scar on our nation.

Thanks to tireless campaigners like Figen Murray – who turned unimaginable loss into Martyn’s Law – tougher safety rules at public venues are becoming reality.

Terror must never win.

Today marks the 80th anniversary of VE Day – the end of World War Two in Europe.

We owe so much to the Second World War generation, who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom.
