I foster kittens, play video games, sometimes draw, sometimes bake, sometimes go adventuring. The resident animals are 2 dogs (Zadie and Coco) and 2 cats (Mabel and Dipper).
Talking to strangers can be good, actually.
Met a guy from Ukraine today. We talked about how pretty this area is and how cool dogs are and Ukraine and Venezuela and politics. It was nice.

I appreciate that the animals want to cuddle when I'm hurting, but it's hard to shift into a comfortable position when Coco is stretched from sternum to shins and Dipper is on my ankles on one side, and Zadie is tucked behind my knees and Mabel is leaning on my back on the other 😅

Zadie is old and crabby and she's never particularly liked other animals. The only one who can cuddle her is Dipper, and only when she's in the mood. It's very sweet, the two anxious kids bonding in their own way.

I finally got my golden dice! Beat Baldur's Gate 3 in honor mode!
Did I use a bit of cheese? Yes I did - 3 man team on Orin, blew up the brain with Gale - but you can't shame away this victory lol

New dog command just dropped!
When the dogs are trying to dislocate my shoulders by going in different directions, I can now say, "Come to a consensus, you turds!" And they'll figure out a direction amongst themselves. 100% success rate thus far. (1 time) 😂

Further update: Mabel has bonded with the paper bag on a molecular level. She is using it as a shell, like a hermit crab.

She stole a piece of cardboard for the compost and tried to eat it, then fell asleep in a paper bag.

Lace cookies are easy to make, as long as you have the right cookie sheet, oven setting, moon phase, emotional and physical temperature, and you make sure to hold them in your thoughts with tender affection for every second of their bake time. 🙃

How the animals reacted to knocks on the door from trick-or-treaters: Coco would trample anyone or anything to go greet the kids. Zadie hid under the blankets. Dipper dove behind the couch. Mabel did nothing - she's deaf lol but she watched casually every time I opened the door. 💜

By 7 we're usually hopping. We've only had 4 groups, less than 10 kids total. Nobody in the last 20 minutes. It hasn't been like this since things started opening back up after covid...
