Counting down the 1000 greatest rock and roll songs of all time and making other lists of my favorite tunes and albums. Rock and roll is my favorite genre but I truly like a little bit of everything, from classical and cumbia to honky-tonk and highlife.
Different severe father but this is also true of John Podhoretz

I get why they want to pretend otherwise but even now net migration is pretty far from zero.

Not sure I agree with many of the rock stand-ins for the hip-hop list choices (the author made the rock list another degree weirder I think), and yeah that Pitchfork list was a bit of a mess, but I agree that rock is long overdue for a canon reshuffle in this direction.

In a way it is good that the Trump-Epstein story is proceeding in this way, sprawling all over, in drips and drops, a piece here and a piece there. It makes it much harder for Trump to stop its momentum with one big poast or tantrum, or for conservative media to bury it.

That in itself seems like a story that should be in the news

another trump could come along and destroy momentum again as soon as we start to get on track if we don't fix the issues that bring trumpism to power in the first place

What I don't see here is Trump saying "investigate me too, I don't care, because you won't find anything." It is pretty obvious Trump is implicated somewhere and he is taking great pains to make sure his dealings with Epstein are not on the table even if that looks suspicious.

I still detect a fear of seeming too cringily woke while ostensibly sharing one's most woke opinion.

Yeah I mean why is letting foreign students study in the US bad now in a way that it wasn't when Batya's family arrived? What changed?

The more someone gets mad about wokeness the more accurate wokeness is as a description of the social dynamics that led to that person's belief system.

If you relied on wokeness to predict events in the current US political system with our current president, you'd be right almost 100% of the time.

Jesse Watters was trying super hard to find something incriminating on Trump too, you just know he's putting his whole heart into a real investigation and not trying to hide anything inconvenient on Trump's behalf
