No one should be killed for their free speech and expression.

It’s the foundation of a functioning civic society.

We can disagree, have heated debates, even say terrible things to and about one another.

But at the end of the day we are all Americans.

We can subscribe to just the giants on mlb.tv with no blackouts and it’s just $20/mo?! MLB is finally figuring it out??? Take my money!

This all day xfinity outage in SF today is making realize that I need better back up communication systems in the event of an emergency.

What’s your plan if there’s an emergency and you don’t have internet or cell service?

I am begging Apple to make a stand alone Touch ID device. It’s annoying to not have it available when my laptop is docked or I’m using my mac mini.

They could charge $99 for it and I would still pay.

I feel like I need two home desk setups. One for work and one for play.

It’s ridiculous, but it’s hard to do fun stuff from the same seat you do work.

The difference between the AI tools of today and a year ago is crazy. A completely different experience and world of possibilities.

Now I’m actively trying to use AI tools everywhere.

I wasted so much time doomscrolling Trump news from 2017-2020. I’m not doing that again this time

The next two years we take care of ourselves and focus on what we can control

In politics, you only get to switch sides once without being called a flip flopper. Many leaders in tech just used their one flip to support Trump.

The cost of flipping back will be high. Dems will need to create a permission structure that makes it as painless as possible.

In 2024, my biggest moment was the sale of Hopthru to Swiftly in August. It was incredibly rewarding after almost six years of grinding as a co-founder. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done and I couldn’t have done it without such an awesome team.

I want the ability to click/tap on domain handles and view the associated website

If domain handles are a form of verification, then checking the website needs to be as seamless as possible

Can anyone recommend me an accountant (preferably in SF) who knows how to handle QSBS tax exemptions?

Do not come to San Francisco!

Meta might be the next yahoo if threads loses to bluesky

If you’re using dark mode, do yourself a favor and switch the theme from “dim” to “dark” under “settings > appearance”. Massive upgrade

Threads has the slickest app of the three platforms. It’s beautifully built.

How did they fumble the bag so badly with that algorithm???

People forget that Twitter originally grew because they had an amazing developer API and there was a robust community building 3rd party apps and tools
You wanted starter packs to be searchable. Our engineers are busy keeping us online, so in the meantime, an independent developer built a new searchable library of starter packs. This is the beauty of building in the open 🦋

Request for startup: buy verified.com and then actually verify identities and set up people’s handles as @.verfied.com

The bluesky team also understands the average user does not care about open source and just wants an amazing default experience. (Something mastadon never figured out)

open source and free software is neat

Journalists are the lifeblood of microblogging platforms

The reason I think Bluesky has the juice this time is that journalists are actually making the leap
It’s going to be amazing to watch how quickly Twitter loses its utility when liberals eventually flee the site and it turns into Gab or Parler or Truth Social.
