I'm still working on a translation proposal, this time for a novel (the first in a series), despite none of my past proposals receiving the least acknowledgment from the publishers I contacted. It's discouraging and feels pointless, but the alternative is to sit and wallow.

Was having a migrainy, not-very-good day until I started watching 'Mr. and Mrs. Murder.' It's camp and funny and smart, just the thing for a much-needed giggle.

Don’t allow tech to turn you into an un-person. Refuse to let AI make things you could produce with your own brain. Develop your mental & creative faculties. Read constantly. They want you illiterate, and nothing threatens them more than a brain that is sharp and intact.

If you're looking for something spooky to read, I highly recommend the Mina Scarletti series by Linda Stratmann, set in Victorian Brighton! It features a disabled main character who secretly writes horror & ghost stories under a male pseudonym and gets pulled into investigating hauntings.

Alas I was cursed with both a facility and a deep dislike for technology...

Purchasing 5 pairs of earbuds at a time may seem excessive, but they're difficult to find, and as a sound-sensitive person I rely heavily on them to deal with the world. I listen to brown noise, which is fairly efficient at blocking human voices.

I spent 4 days in an absolutely gorgeous place, with breathtaking views, lovely people, and delicious food, but I've felt totally wrung out since coming back...
